Powerhead with filter sock?

Per advise on here, I am thinking of going filterless on my new tank. I am doing a 40 gallon corner tank. I have two 800gph powerheads, and my skimmer all for current, and I purchased a 160gph powerhead that I am able to attach a filter sock to the front of. (the tank is not in place yet, just getting all the equipment together, possibly starting water in a week or two)

Is this a good idea, and if so, any suggestions of placement?
