New SPS, need I'd plus might be dying.

So my wife, who is awsome, bought me a new acro on monday. She was driving by the LFS and thought it looked good. Now both of us are new to sps so she did not realize it had no polyp extension. Now it is starting to turn white at a few tips. I am thinking it's a goner. She did dip it before to kill any pests. Do I need to worry about it spreading to other corals? Should it be removed or just wait?
