I was doing a water change today and i found this stuff:
Its reddish-pink just like in the photo, and it clumps up with the sand. I'm almost certain it's cyano.
I found it under my gsp rock, which I move to vaccum the sandbed. It wasnt there when I last did a w/c, (2 weeks ago), so it is a recent development. I know that the main causes of cyano are high phos. and low flow, but my phosphates read at zero, and my nitrates may as well be zero too. Obviously there isn't going to be any way for me to increase flow, since it's growing under the rock.
I removed a decent amount of it with a siphon during the w/c. What do I do now?
