Red sea max c250 running 2 weeks. 40 lbs live sand 40 lbs live rock.
System is running great. Seems like any cycle that happened was ultra fast as ive added ammonia and 2 days later all my tests are near perfect. .05 nitrate today rest were perfect as well as my calcium level.
Brought water to both of my lfs for extra tests and they both suggested its time to add a small cleanup crew. 5 blue leg hermits and about 10 snails a mix of 2 types.
I wont be adding fish or coral for at least a few more weeks as i want to make sure im stabile with the addition of the cuc.
My question is at what point do i do my first water change (an explanation of why its needed with perfect parameters would be helpful) also when and should I add a bag of chemi pure elite carbon filter to the system. Currently just using the 2 or 3 filter sponges that come with the system and the live rock and sand.
