Everbilt vinyl tubing from home depot reef safe?

i picked up some clear vinyl tubing from home depot to use as a return line from my sump pump to DT, trying to avoid elbows and head loss with pvc. when i got home i smelled a good amount of plasticizers in the tube.

is home depot vinyl tubing safe to keep in water constantly or should i just go buy food grade vinyl tubing online and use my current tubing for waterchanges?

anyone using home depot tubing on their setups with no problems?
