Hello All!
I've been monitoring my numbers about 1-2x's per week and I can't get my Nitrates to 0ppm for the life of me.
The tank was established (but filthy) when I got it- I've sinced cleaned out all of the water, sand, etc. and have had the tank up and running for probably 4-5 moths now? (I think)
The salinity is 1.028
The PH is 8.2-8.4
I keep the temp at 82F
The Ammonia is 0 ppm
The Nitrites are 0 ppm
The Nitrates are either 5.0 or 10ppm (using the API chemical test with tubes/drops- it's a little tough to figure out which one it is- but it's not 0)
I do weekly 5 gallon water changes (water from the LFS) the tank is a biocube 29. I even got soem de*nitrate to try and get it to go down.
Any thoughts? Should I worry about it? Anything suggestions would be great!
Thanks!!
