Turbo twist uv sterilizer q

Hey guys. I've got a question. I've been battling an algae bloom for awhile now. Can't figure out why. All my levels are good but I can't seem to shake the cloudy water no matter what I do. So I threw in the towel and bought a uv sterilizer. Now on the box it says use a pump with 100-200 gph rate. I was wondering if I could just plumb it in to my supply line to my sump. That way I know all the water going in gets sterilized. Thanks
