Starfish ate coral

Hi other day I bought myself a new leather coral and the next morning I found my chocolate chip starfish eating it. I moved it in the tank and have been keeping an eye on it but it's not looking good. At what point do I call it and pull it out? I would try to post a picture but I have no idea how
