10 gallon tank

Hello, i have a ten gallon tank with a damsel and a cleaner shrimp, i bought a new light at amazon, which is awesome, but i had to remove the lid of my tank so i coul place the lights on the edges of it and now the tank is open and i looks like the lights are close to the fishes and my coral, is there any specific distance or way to put this lights ? Do you guys know any place that i can buy a lid that i can cut in order to make it fit with my filter and my lights. Thanks a lot
