Got a refractometer, changed dosing

I have a 40 gallon mixed reef, a few softies, zoa, star polyp.
SG 1.03 two days ago, 1.026 now
calcium 370 yesterday, 435 today
alk 8
ph 8.3
magnesium is fine, everything is on a doser, have skimmer.

I was using a hydrometer and like many people, and found out my tank was way off when I got a refractometer. I removed a few gallons of tank water and replaced it with R.O. I know that my chemistry would be off. I was planning to start fixing the chemistry today, but my doser (timer type, 10 times a day) seems to have made massive corrections. I am thinking that my calcium needs to be turned down a lot with lower salinity. Does this make sense to anyone? I had already turned down the alk a few days ago, as it was running high already, but calcium wasn't affected till I lowered the SG
