Salt mixes and parameters

So I need a little help; first some background.

I have used regular instant ocean for a year or so. After adding corals and testing I have found that I’ve needed to supplement with Kalk, Magnesium, sodium bicarbonate, etc. Now for the number of corals I have it seems like normal water changes would be sufficient. I have 5 small LPS colonies and 3 LPS frags a few snails and hermits in what was a 29g (it is now a 40g) and I do a 10-20% WCW. The only thing I can think of is the salt mix is deficient and I tested it and found it to be a bit low on a number of things but I don’t remember the exact numbers this is at 1.025-1.026sg.

I have recently switched to HW Marinemix Reefer Salt and the parameters seemed to be almost spot on. However, I have found a great deal of undissolved white something, precipitant or something I’m guessing and it coats the inside of my mixing barrel a fair amount. I have to end up disposing of a good 10% of my fresh saltwater as it doesn’t seem to dissolve.

I have noticed if I wait until the RODI is warm it mixes better but it’s almost like working with a Kalk solution.

On to the questions

Am I doing something wrong with the new salt mix?

What is the precipitant I’m seeing and is there any way to avoid it?

With the amount of corals I have in a 40g should I expect to be supplementing? They are growing I have no idea how fast as I have no metric to base fast or slow growth on.
