carpet anemone

I have a rather large carpet anemone I would like to get rid of. its about 15 inches wide and I've had it a few years. a friend of mine wants it but I think he wants to cut it up and try to split it. anyone know if you can donate these and whats the best way to take it out of a tank? It is not stuck to any rock and is attached to the glass (tank floor). These things are cool but I was hoping it would host a clown I have but it never happened. No way would i ever kill it and wondering how does one dispose of a fish they no longer want
