37g column tank...reboot!

Getting back in the game after a few years off. I had a healthy FOWLR tank going for about five years, but let things go after the last fish went. I left all equipment on for about two years, even lights and canister flilter—to have things at the ready just in case. Then my old fllourescent fixture konked out, so no light for another year except from a window in the room. Problem was, I didn’t clean anything, AND I mistakenly thought I should bet adding some food every couple of weeks to give the bacteria on my LR something to process.

So...when I finally decided to clean everything up and restart, nitrates were through the roof! For the last four weeks i’ve done everything possible to get those under control, and they’re down to 10 now. Yesterday I added a new cleanup crew. Will be adding a HOB skimmer soon and planning some tankmates soon. This time around, I’m going for a reef tank w/corals. I’m sure i’ll have a bunch of questions on that!! For fish, thinking about a Blenny, a flame hawkfish and some type of swimmer (had a blenny and a six-line before with no issues). I’ll update as I go!
