cyano growing in low light areas

I have been battling cyano for about 4 months now and have tried the blackout and chemiclean. it keeps comming back but only on thr sand. its caribsea aragonite about an inch deep in a 20long. running an aquaticlife mini skimmer, hob filter for flow, 3 other powerheads, 15% weekly wc and siphon the sand, blow off rock's, reefradiance dm155e leds whites on for about 7 and a half hours, blues on an hour before and after whites off. it mostly grows under rock where its shaded and on the outsides of the tank where the light isn't as intense as the middle. tank is about 6 months old

I'm tired of washing socks

So every 4 days now the socks have to be replace, and i'm tired of washing them, so i've come across a post which the OP said he just machine wash them with soap and javex.



I tried it and it works no more fiddeling around with vinegar soaking buckets and ladida BS. I put it on Hot water EXTRA RINSE, EXTRA SOAK, WARM RINSE its a 2;30 hours long i don't care its out of my hands now and i'm happy with it.



I've tested my parameters, no issues with phosphates and nitrates , period.

One note though once i forgot the EXTRA RINCE and the skimmer whent crazy, so assume its necessary for removing all trace of sopa and javex. I also let areate very good too. And since i've got 4 pairs it take a while between the changes so they have time to vent any chlorine residue.



So what your methods?

I had the lights turned down because of some GHA that was popping up (new tank syndrome). Nitrates and GHA are starting to recede. I had the lighting period turned down to 5 hrs actinics and 3hrs 10,000 for about 4-5 days. I would like to get the lighting back up to get the coralline going again (it's just starting to pop up) and get the zoa frag and blue shroom kicking. I also have a hitchhiker softie on some LR I'd like to see grow. What time do you recommend? It's just the stock lighting ATM with new bulbs and upgraded fans.

Can you make something clear for me. Why do i need a wave maker? I already have one and im trying to setup a tank. Can you tell me why? Why is it important? Can i power it off? And , and if it is important what direction is the best? Hitting the coral ?:clown:

Setting up a less than 20 gallon tank

I am new at this and i only have a less than 20 gallon tank i need help in the equipment. I dont need it to be perfect i just want to put at least a fish or 2 in it . Need help with the setup materials. Just the essentials. I am still 15 so i dont have that much money. thank u
