Thursday and early start

Good mawnin', TRT!

Coffee is on and smelling great! Let's have buttermilk pancakes. You can top them with peaches or with Dave's VT maple Syrup. Someone cook the breakfast meat for those who want it.

Yesterday was indeed a slow day on the TRT daily thread. Let's get going today!

Off to Civitan. We're meeting at a helping agency today, hence the earlier start for me.

Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone.

Salt levels and more

I'm trying to figure out what the best levels are for your tank. I have a 40 gal tank with shrimp snails hermits and two clowns. I plan to add coral but I'm just trying to learn all the basics before getting more serious with it. What should I try to run my salt at if I want to add coral? Ph? Alkalinity? And anything else I should need to know

Greetings from Aruba

We are on our once a year family vacation in aruba. Took my little guy snorkeling to a little spot just off of palm beach.

blue/green chromis in bad shape

i picked up 5 blue/green chromis that have been doing really good in my tank for about a week now, one of them had little green checker patterns on his blue scales, his name is now checkers.

checkers has been eating and staying with the school minding his own until today when i came home and saw him doing corkscrew patterns through the water like he had a swim bladder or fin injury. all fins look good except his left fin which wont really extend past his body now, hes breathing heavy and is alive but just cant seem to right himself.

my question is should i be concerned now about his checker pattern? is this something that i should fear for other fish in tank? im going to try and get a picture in a little bit but for now i have him in an old overflow box that i stuck in tank so he isnt getting blown around everywhere from pumps

Help Choosing Corals

I am seeking advice for my 65 gallon tank. It has mostly live rock and I want to add some coral or other items. The problem is that I have a pencil urchin that has been very good at eating algae down to the rock (mostly coralline). Yes, I know that urchins and corals don't mix well but I was hoping for an idea or two. There is a bubble tip anemone that hasn't been bothered.

Thanks in advance.

Vendors section.

I had a nice explanatory post about the vendors section.
However it got lost before it posted so the short version.
The vendors section is mostly dead, too long and in the way.
