Vote Now: 17g Drop Off Tank Poll!

The time has come to vote on what we put in our Reef Crest 17g Drop off tank.

Brandon wanted to change things up from what reefers see everyday, so he worked hard on coming up with these stocking options. Please take the time to vote!

This poll will be set up for a few days...on all of our forums we are a part of including our social media sites Twitter and Facebook. Vote for your favorite of the two....and whichever wins will be there at the register for you to enjoy in the months to come. But you gotta vote to make a difference

Option #1)

> 3 or 5 spotted garden eels
> 1 cool (in season) goby perhaps if 3 eel bioload is chosen
> Pom Pom crabs, porcelain crabs, Pederson or bongo shrimp
> mangroves in top section, sea grass in sand bed and red macro algaes on a tunze cell pore frag rock on back wall of the bottom section

Filtration would consist of cell pore media spheres or blocks in the rear chamber, weekly 5g water changes, and the mangroves and macro algae.

Option #2)

> 3 or 5 pipefish - Janns's flag tail or yellow multi banded
>maybe a small goby when the correct season is here - gobies like the yasha or flaming prawn gobies are not available currently
> Sexy shrimp, porcelain crabs, Pom Pom crabs, Pederson shrimp
> NPS corals such as dendro, sun corals, Tigerskin gorgonians, carnations corals and more!

Yea Friday!

Good morning TRT friends, and.....HAPPY FRIDAY! Ain't sure till 'I call in at 8:00' this morning, but may have parlayed this shoulder thingy into a 4 day weekend.:blob: Family all have their fingers crossed. Looks like we have a beautiful day today, but will deteriorate thru the weekend with tropical storm warnings going up from tomorrow through Sunday around here. If things work out this morning we'll be dinning at Golden Corral for breakfast, so if'n you can dream it, they've got it. Coffee on the table at the moment, so hold out your cups. We'll save you some goodies Cath for when you get home. Hope all are well, and have groovy stuff lined up for their days, and all the best,
Hack

Algae Problem

I am new- got my RSM 650 back in May. I have an algae problem and I'd like to see if anyone can help me positively id the algae so that I can properly treat it. My air was out for two weeks- tank got hot- did everything I could to keep it cool, including ice cubes in the sump. This was a nightmare- tank was gross. I think I ended up with diatoms and algae because the nasty brown slime on the sand ended up going away, but I am left with this algae.

LFS was out and suggested it was dinos. I'm not so sure- and frankly neither were they. We blacked out for three days then scrubbed the rocks as best we could but there is still algae.

By the way, I have fish and live rocks, two anemones and a cup coral.

See pics as attachments. Suggestions appreciated.

My Nano 29g Build

ok here I go!
Picked up my new Biocube 29gal. well new to me, but used.
one of the light plugs doesn't seem to be working, I will have to test my electrician skills on that at a later time, but I might end up just doing an over hall on the lighting system that I have seen in other threads!
ok, try to post some pics.
