Good fish to get next?

Hello, to start things off. I have a 30 gallon reef tank with a clown fish and a bi-color angelfish. I have a little over 10 pounds of rock so I have plenty of swimming room for them. Got a couple snails, shrimp, crabs. Got one random brittle starfish. And I have a torch coral, hammer coral, pipe organ coral, lemon tree coral and some green mushroom coral. I was wondering what next fish i should get? I know I can't get very many because of the 1 fish per 10 gallon blah blah blah. Anyways, I was looking for a fish that would be a really cool color and be really active and get along with everything in my tank. I know about me having the bi color is really pushing it but I think I have enough swimming room for atleast one more fish. Any suggestions?
Most appreciated!

Happy "Tanking"
John :)

Do wrasses harass your stomatellas?

I think i got some stomatellas to reproduce in my fuge. I put a large one (thumbnail size) into dt and my wrasse wouldnt leave it alone for even a second. Kept nipping at it so i moved back to fuge. These guys clean my fuge all day i want to add some to dt does this occur to anyone else?

Btw its a sixline (my little brat of a fishchild)

Steve's LEDs Issues

Anyone have the stevesleds upgrade for RSM250? I got mine the other day and it doesn't work. The fans and colored LEDs come on, but the whites do not. I emailed stevesleds this morning with this issue, and I'm very disappointed that they haven't replied. This is almost a $900 unit and the LEDs aren't working out of the box. I would have hoped that they would have been more responsive.

But anyway, the Typhon controller is on the default settings. I set the date and clock. Each LEDs timer says that the white lights should be on right now at 100%.

If anyone has any ideas of what I can check, it would be wholeheartedly appreciated.

Epoxying live rock

Hello reefers,

I'm getting some live rock from someone that is already epoxied, I'm afraid some of it will break up when transporting, how would you suggest I epoxy live rock back together>?< :read:

Flooding Thursday

Good mawnin', TRT!

Coffee is ready. French toast with VT maple syrup, and homemade applesauce. I bet someone will want to cook some bacon or sausage.

Off to Civitan in a few. Flood warnings here. The TRT Ark is in the SC Upstate now.

Lots of love and hugs and peace to everyone.

sudden diatoms.

Good morning,

The tank is a 75 with a 30 sump, the rock is from my old 55, and the sand is new. It is roughly 5 months old with the only new additions being 48" reefbreeder light from marine land marine pro(both added 1 month ago). The marine land had 4 54w ati blue plus and 4 leds I didn't run the 2x250w hqi's. The other addition was a brs gfo reactor, running both carbon and gfo, that is currently out of the tank. I started to read 0 ppm on my phosphate test so I took it out as not to strip to much nutrients. I do a 20 gal water change every 2 weeks. I vacuum the sand and take about 5 gals out of the sump vacing any detritus, and clean my skimmer neck every week. Top off water is Ro/Di made from my spectrapure unit. I read 0 tds out of the unit and out of my storage container. Skimmer is a reef octopus sro-1000, and I run a oxydator. my photoperiod is from 9am to 8pm, with my peak being 45 blue and 35 white. the feed schedule is a small piece of nori once a day and Mysis Tuesday and Thursday, and reef energy once a week. I have had a diatom outbreak since I added the brs reactor, change the light schedule to the current one being the previous schedule was like 14hrs, and feeding was reduced as well. The only two thing I have going on is the diatoms and my couple pieces of xenia are shriveling up and dyeing. Any ideas?

Marinepure bio filter blocks. Anyone use?

Saw an ad for the marinepure bio filter bricks, cubes, and spheres. Now according to BRS' overview vid about this product, the bricks have 20,000 sq ft of surface area, and can be placed into a high flow area of sump. Couple of questions i had are;
1. Wouldnt this defeat the purpose of any live rock in sump, allowing for more water volume hence more stable params with same bio filtration?

2.over time im assuming this block will cure the same way rock does, wouldnt the intricate network of nano pores get clogged over time due to biomass being created within rock from nitrifying bacteria? I assume these would have to be replaced on a quarterly basis so the detritus buildup doesnt accumulate deep inside rock? Is it so pourous that the detritus can pass right through?

If anyone is using this product then please tell your honest opinion, and how long have you been running it in your system. I have a nano 20g so this would be a perfect way for me to sell some excess sump rock in trade for more water volume. Thanks
