Algae for food?

I was wondering if anyone has ever taken hair algae(or any algae for that matter) and dried it out and used it as food for the fish. Would this work? Just and idea, I have plenty of hair algae... if anyone has tried this did it work? And all input is wanted!!! Don't be afraid to speak opinions/ideas!

Practical Uses for Wastewater?

So im kind of a hippie at heart and it pains me to see the wastewater just go down the drain from my RODI unit. Is there a practical use for this wastewater? Can i water plants with it? Safe for animals to drink?

Submersible Pump question

Posted this in the wrong forum :(... trying again

I had a neighbor give me a submersible pump, they never used it and it should work for an ATO when I'm ready to get there.

It is an Aquatop unit (NP-305) , though I have to believe they are all fairly universal?

There is no manual or directions, but there is a bag of parts. Some of which I understand, such as a return unit, but there are some parts I'm not sure how to set up.

I THINK there is a tee with an antisiphon hose ... I think... but I'd love to know if there is a place to find a good 'how to set up your pump' direction set.

Manuals or YouTube videos seem to not quite fit the bill.

Thank you in advance!!

Submersible Pump question

Manic Monday

Wow three inches of snow. That is no doubt due to the fact I put patio furniture out.

Need to button up molding and get the garage more tidy so Denise can put her car in there. Funny how you have to trash a place to organize it.

Off to Boston tonight. Looks like I'll miss the storms unless a plane gets stuck somewhere.

Clown Triggerfish

I was at my LFS a day ago and they had Clown Triggerfish for sale for $40 I am waiting for my 125G tank to cycle, and still thinking about what fish I'd like. Long story short I looked on liveaquaria.com to get more info about the Triggerfish and it said min tank 300 gallons!! Really? What in the world! So I guess I'm asking would this thing really out grow my tank?
