Just thinking about how to set up a QT tank (design), I'd like to be able to attach it to my main system then just be able to shut/open a couple valves and have it be disconnected from the main tank while I have fish in the QT, but otherwise just act as added volume (or possibly my settling tank) when not QT'ing anything.
The question I have is when you finish QT'ing something do you need to drain/clean the QT tank? Or has the month of QT being seperated killed whatever could be in the tank? Do you have to leave it shut down an additional month after the fish are moved from QT to DT?
It may not be beneficial to have the QT attached to the main system if you have to shut it down for more than a month at a time, or if you have to clean / drain it between uses...
just something I'm pondering as I get closer to designing my fishroom... close on the house Wednesday at noon!
